"I remember meeting a guy that was living on the streets that was showing me how to survive when I would become homeless because he knew it was just a matter of time due to the fact that he was in my situation prior to meeting me. He showed me all the places to go and get food. You get a sack lunch or even a hot meal depending on the day of the week and depending on your location. You start early to find your spot in a park or under a bridge depending on your location again. You prepare by picking up odds and ends that you can either use for bedding, insulation, or storing the food that you carried around in your pockets from the meals that you received earlier in the day. [He said] you will learn to appreciate a good night's sleep. A bed. Or just simply a roof over your head. He’s slept in parks, under bridges, and even in sewers depending on the weather. And this was his life for about 3 years prior to meeting me. He too was an ex-felon." Tyrone, Founding Member and Peer Facilitator of Focus and Refocus.
